Week 19 – Better reports.

Finally some nice fishing weather. The wind has been from west most of the week and we had some heavy rain. This has been quite good for the fishing. Reports came in from lots of different places; Vejle fjord, Lillebaelt and Kolding fjord. All areas have been quite good this week.

I have been fishing the coastline a couple of evenings this week. A lot of contacts with garfish only, one landed and also a few contacts with seatrout. I lost a very nice one on Friday evening at Trelde næs. There was a lot of activity this evening at Trelde and a lot of fish were turning in the surface. But a heavy storm and rain forced us to give up the fishing.

The weather changed from nice sunny calm weather to heavy storm and rain within 5 minutes. It was simply impossible to fish anymore.

Sunday I had a trip to Skjern å again to try the salmon fishing. Kasper, Thomas, Morten and myself were fishing all day long but no strikes or anything for us. While we had lunch suddenly another fisherman needed some help landing a salmon, so I helped him land a 83cm, 6,3 kilo fresh salmon straight from the sea.

It is always nice to see nice fish caught, but it was the only fish caught in this part of the river on Sunday.

My friend Henrik Skott was fishing Stor å on Tuesday and got a nice fat salmon on the Rapala lure on 96cm and 9,8 kilo.

More than just a beauty... 96 cm...

For the coming week the weather seems to be nice and sunny and the wind will turn back to the east again. But I think the good fishing will go on anyway. But now we need to concentrate the fishing around morning and evening for the seatrout. The garfish is here still all day long and of course you can get a seatrout at daytime as well.
