The Salmon season in Denmark started 1. April. And what a start...

51 Salmon reported on the first day of fishing in Skjern å. The biggest fish reported is a salmon on 15,5 kilo caught on fly. You can follow the report for Skjern å on this link http://skjernaasam.dk

In Varde å 31 fish were caught on the first day. And the latest news from Stor åen is a monster 121 cm 20,1 kilo, on fly.

These numbers of salmon is really fantastic. If we go 10 years back there were caught less salmon trough out the season compared to the numbers we have now. These results shows that you can bring back the salmon to the rivers if you work hard. So a lot credit to all people in the local fishing clubs for the hard work to bring back the salmon, they did a fantastic job with great success.

I was fishing Skjern å on Thursday together with Kasper and Thomas. Kasper got a rainbow trout around 2 kilo. Otherwise we got nothing. But just to get out along the river was great. I hope I have time for another trip during the next week.

Oooh yes the Salmon is back in Denmark!
