Denmark week 10By Jesper Havshøi – Fish and Outdoor - Fredericia Hello everyone. Finally the spring is here. After a long and very cold winter the spring has come to Denmark. With temperatures up to 5 degrees at daytime the ice is starting to break up. On Thursday the ice started to break up in Vejle Fjord and a couple fishermen vent to the fjord to fish. They had some really nice fishing out there. Three fishermen got more than 40 seatrout within three hours. Lots of the fish were very skinny and were off course put back in the water but a few very nice fat fish were also caught, the largest on 4,2 kilo.
Steen hooked up... On Sunday it was my turn to go to the fjord, together with my fishing friends we went to Andkær Vig. There was still a little ice in the water but nothing to disturb the fishing. After a short while Steen got a skinny fish on 51 cm, he also got fish on 41 and 52 cm. Thomas got one on 42 cm and I got two small fish around 38 cm and lost one around 50 cm. We also had some strikes during the day. All fish were caught on flies with pink colors.
Pink colors did the job. It was really great to get out to the coastline again, after the long cold winter. The weather forecast for the next week is higher temperatures and even at nighttime the temperatures will be above 0 degrees. So I think the winter is over for now. Kolding Fjord is still covered with ice, but with the temperatures we have now I think the ice will break up within a week. We saw a really amazing scene when a big ice plate hit Holtster Haage in Vejle Fjord. See the picture, it happened within half an hour.
A really amazing scene. Best regards Jesper - info@fish-outdoor.dk - terug -
