Denmark report, May 2010

Hello everyone!

Another month has gone by and what a month it was. Normally April is the best month, but this year May has been fantastic here. The temperature started to look like springtime and the fish really reacted positively. The beginning of May was simply outstanding. Lots of seatrout were caught and even a large and heavy salmon on the coastline as well.

The coastline

- Kolding fjord

The fjord was fishing very nice. Lots of fish were caught in many different locations so the fish were spread throughout a large area. A lot of Dutchmen fished here during this month and most of them had some nice days with some great fishing. Thanks to everyone who came along the shop to say hello and get the latest news.

Nice trout were caught around here.

Not seatrout was caught here. In the beginning of the month thousands of garfish invaded the area and it is quite a lot of fun to see them hunt the flies in the surface.

Some people are just lucky in finding a good fish.

The beginning of May was just awesome.

- Vejle fjord

Vejle fjord has also been fishing okay, but not until the middle of May. Quite a few seatrout around 3 kilo were caught during the second half of the month. It was mostly the outer part of the fjord that brought some good fishing. Also a lot of garfish was caught up here.

- Lillebaelt

Some very nice fish from this area this month. Seatrout on 6 kilo and a lots of fish around 50 cm. Also a sensational salmon on 104 cm, 10,7 kilo was caught here along the coastline. And as everywhere else, lots of garfish in Lillebaelt as well.

The Rivers

- Vejle å

Has not really started up yet, but still a few fish around 4 kilo were caught. I were only one evening at the river. I saw two fish moving up the river but that was it. It is still early for the fishing in Vejle å but in June the fishing here will be a lot better.

- Skjern å

A month with ups and downs. Some days the fishing in Skjern å was excellent and other days nothing was happening at all. My friend Morten caught a nice salmon on 100 cm and 9 kilo and the biggest fish until now is 19,2 kilo. 284 Salmon are caught in this season until now. 138 Salmon were taken home.

Latest news: my friend Kasper Emil Nielsen (right picture) caught a salmon on the 3rd of June on 126 cm 17,6 kilo!
