Winter time...By Jesper Havshøi – Fish and Outdoor - Fredericia January 25th - Hello everyone! The winter is still very cold here in Denmark. I haven't been fishing since November but yesterday I simply had to do something. I just needed to get a little bit of time away. It was not the best conditions for seatrout fishing. The airtemperature was minus 6 and the water minus 0,4 degrees. So the only thing to do was to put on a lot of clothes just to try to keep warm. The biggest problem with all the clothes is that you move like a robot.
You move like a robot with all the clothes. Well anyway I was going fishing and that is really what matters. I went to Gals Klint because Lillebælt is the only place that is not covered with ice. I was fishing with the spinning rod, that is not normal but this winter nothing is normal here so why not. Let me make it all clear. I hate fishing with the spinning rod. But it is simply too cold to go with the fly rod at the moment.
Hate the spinning rod but just couldn't use the fly rod. I was fishing for a couple of hours but without any fish seen or any strikes. I guess the fish is in the deeper water where the temperature is just a little bit warmer. But anyhow this was the first trip of the year and it was just great to get out to the coastline again. The weather forecast for the next week is still cold weather with temp. down to minus 15 degrees. So the wintner is really pushing on here in Denmark this year. Until now we had 39 days in a row with temperatures below zero degrees.
Hopefully soon the ice will start breaking in the fjords so we can have spectacular fishing again. But at sometime the temperature will go up again and when the ice in the fjords is breaking we will have some wild fishing here. Best regards Jesper - info@fish-outdoor.dk - terug -
