Denmark report - January 2011

By Jesper havshoi - Fish & Outdoor - Fredericia, Denmark

Hello everybody! Springtime is getting closer here in Denmark, most of the ice has gone from here and quite a lot of fishermen are starting the new season. Sunday we were fishing with 6 guys south of Assens on Fyn.

The weather is still pretty cold here, just between 0 and 5 degrees. The water temperature is little above 0 degrees, so conditions are still tough here, but to get out along the coast again is just wonderful.

We were fishing for five hours. No strikes and no fish seen. This is quite normal for this time of year. You have to be very lucky to get a fish this early in the season. But as long as you are able to spend some nice hours along the coast with some nice friends and bring a barbeque, then it is a perfect day, even without fish.

Now we just have to wait for the temperature to rise and then fish will also get more and more active.

Take care and I wish you all a great season.

Tight lines!
