Denmark week 6...

Hello everyone! - This is my first report of the year. It is not easy here at the moment, the winter has really hit us hard this year. We have had temperatures below zero since the 16th of December. So as you can see on the pictures it is not easy to find some open water here at the moment.

The only place there is no ice at the moment is in Lillebaelt, but even in Lillebaelt you will find ice close to land sometimes. Thomas and I took a little trip along the coast line Sunday the 14th of February to make some pictures.

We went to Trelde in Vejle fjord, close to where the fjord meats Lillebaelt. The ice is at the moment reaching 50 meters out in the fjord.

I also went to Vognær enge, here the fjord is closed with ice all over and also at Andkær vig everything is coverd with ice.

We also went to Houens odde. Here everything is closed with ice except a small hole by the dam. The ice is now so thick that you can walk on it (I don’t recommend it, there can be places where the ice cannot carry you).

We also met Kasper and Morten, they found a small stretch of open water, but no fish at all. So at the moment it doesn’t make any sense to fish. I think we have to wait for another month before the ice is gone.

But let’s hope the fishing will start up with a big bang when the ice disappears, it normally does.

I will keep all of you posted as soon as the ice starts to break up. Until then keep up the spirit.
