2006 Denemarken

This year was a promising one. Already the late winter was great for a lot of Seatrout fishermen! Jesper continuously sent pictures to us to keep us updated about the good catches of Seatrout in Denmark... We couldn't wait to get out there!

Fortunately it didn't take long. Just a couple of weeks later the spring set in within a couple of days. We haven't had this kind of weather before. A week with sun all day long with temperatures far above 20. The fish appearently liked it as well and started feeding like crazy...

The fjord was just loaded with Seatrout. This spring became the best one in a decade. Lots of fish of this size we caught. Sometimes a half day nothing, sometimes 4 takes in half an hour...

Due to the still cold water the fish is incredibly vivid. Drills are heavy and spectacular. Here the Seatrout took a Magnus.

Great fish to keep in hands. As well as males as females regularly hit the Magnus pretty hard.

Hard working fishermen need comfortable accommodation. Look at this Villa!!! And not even that expensive.

Really hundreds of male pheasants were proudly showing there vivid colours to the females. Time to produce a couple of little ones. Good for the flies...

The first evening we couldn't find out where to go so we ended up in Alehole, means something like Eel Hole. As we heared a great spot especially during sommernights. This evening we were way to early. About 10 flyfishermen, only one fish caught... Finally William saw something that could be promissing...

Oh yeah!!! Something hit the fly. It appeared to be a bunch of plants... Can we get out of here and go home for a drink please???

The next day we found out where to go thanks to Jesper - the local fishing tackleshop owner. Immediately a fish was showing himself in the surface.

This is the bay we spent pretty much the rest of the week....

Everywhere fish, but not always easy to get by.

Serious damaged field, that must indicate a lot of fishermen know where to go... let's follow the trace...

We also tried the other side of the bay, unfortunately without any succes... Even sbirulinos didn't get the results.

During the evening we went back to the original place Jesper told us about... First I missed a big one... At least I didn't catch them that size! Five minutes later and another one struck the fly and was landed safely... Look at the jaw of this baby!

William Papparazi took some nice close-ups of this sweet male Seatrout... Quite impressive if you ask me!

This Magnus was definately the big kicker. Seduced a massive amount of nice shaped Seatrout!

Probably you're wondering; these guys also have to eat, take a leak or what?! But offcourse, but than allways along the bank. Disposable BBQ's were taken to the water in order to have a great dinner!

William took a Seatrout even on a dry fly... It's always the same with this guy. Always doing things otherwise. And he was succesful.
